The short version

This site collects an email address if you give us one, and nothing else that identifies you. We don't sell anything, we don't run advertising, and we don't share your address with anyone outside the services listed below that are needed to send you email.

What we collect

Your email address, if you join the mailing list or submit a festival listing. The mailing list sends one thing — news about the film — so there is nothing else to record about what you asked for.

Festival submissions. What you type into the submission form, including your email address, so we can confirm the listing with you before publishing it.

Aggregate analytics. We use Umami to count page views. It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites.

Server logs. Our host records IP addresses for a short period as part of running the site and blocking abuse. We also keep the IP address attached to a festival submission so we can deal with spam.

Why we collect it

To send you the email you asked for, and to check that a submitted festival listing is real before we publish it and send people to it. That's the whole list. We do not use your address for anything you did not ask for.

How long we keep it

Mailing list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the footer of any email we send. Festival submissions are kept while the listing is live, so we know where it came from and who to re-check it with. Analytics are aggregate and retain nothing tied to you.

Who else sees it

Mailchimp (Intuit) stores the mailing list and sends the email. Vercel hosts the site and processes requests. Umami provides the analytics. Each of these sees only what it needs to do that job. Nobody buys this data from us, because we don't sell it.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email olivia@owongproductions.com and we'll do it. You do not have to give a reason and we will not treat you differently for asking.

We are a California business, so the CCPA applies. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, and we do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top, and say so in the next email if the change affects what we do with your address.
